If you are seeking the best tuning support from us, then the Powergate4 option is ideal for you. While this device may increase the cost of our service by an additional $350, it is worth considering over shipping your DME to us. The cost of two-way express shipping with an insured DME value will likely exceed the cost of the Powergate.

Having the Powergate4 in your possession allows us to provide you with the highest level of service possible. Additionally, if you have a Windows laptop and an OpenPort 2.0 OBD dongle, you will receive complementary access to our logging software.

As you may know, we are the only company in North America that has successfully delivered projects on N14 and N18 engines exceeding the 500whp mark while retaining OEM DME, OEM engine core, and all OEM as-built features. This information is critical as it underscores the extensive knowledge we bring, which you'll benefit from due to our trials and experiences in delivering the best products for these vehicles.

Our tuning philosophy is straightforward: if we don't have a validated tuning solution in our possession, you won't have access to it. We all aspire to run the hottest tunes that offer maximum horsepower gains, minimal fuel consumption, and keep engine internals intact. However, perfection is often assumed in theory. We strive to leave no stone unturned, having tuned thousands of Mini Coopers in every conceivable configuration, giving us a clear understanding of what works, what doesn’t, and what upgrades are truly worth pursuing.

If you choose to collaborate with us, we guarantee the best possible outcome for your application and reliable performance over the long term.

Default Features Offered with Our Software:

  • Optimized ignition timing tailored to the fuel grade available to the customer.
  • Maximized torque throughout the entire power band while maintaining a safe threshold for factory engine internals.
  • Removal of speed limiters and improved fuel efficiency during light throttle conditions, all while retaining factory safety limiters.
  • Engine Operation Temperature Correction: Our calibration allows the engine to run cooler than default settings, from 225-240°F to 185-195°F, minimizing the risk of overheating-related issues such as damaged plastic components, fatigued timing chain guides, and cooked oil on the oil control ring. This extension of operational lifespan addresses common flaws associated with excessive heat.
  • Throttle Table Correction: Removal of throttle lag with a linear 1:1 calibration for improved engine response and smoother driving. The sport button still offers the OEM overboost feature for tuned profiles (e.g., 14psi Sport OFF, 21psi Sport ON), making it an excellent option for shared driving profiles.
  • Pops and Bangs at Different Levels: Enjoy customizable pops and bangs. Please note that 2007 and older firmware versions may not respond; a dealer update to the latest firmware is recommended.
  • Increased Throttle Response: Enhanced throttle response akin to a throttle booster, especially for Countryman models.
  • Launch Control for JCW Cars: Featuring launch control functionality to optimize performance during starts.

Please keep in mind that all calibration work is done through OEM firmware. The availability of "want features" is limited by what the firmware allows us to implement.

Regardless of your tuning selection, we offer an individualized approach to every customer. Our extensive library of knowledge allows us to provide the best service and results that align with your goals.

Tuning Options:

  • Stage 1: OEM Plug Calibration with a refined driving profile, providing a noticeable performance increase without the need for upgrades or emissions compliance concerns.

  • Stage 2: Calibration for various bolt-on upgrades, including intakes, intercoolers, and exhaust setups, while still retaining the factory turbo. Options include usage with OEM catalytic converters, high-flow cats, or catless downpipes.

  • Stage 3: This includes all Stage 2 options but with an upgraded turbo. We have extensively tested all hybrid turbos on the market. Some perform well, while others do not meet expectations. Our recommendation is to invest wisely; the R300 turbo will outperform and outlast any other hybrid options. When you purchase the R300 turbo and tune together, we offer a fair discount.

  • Stage 4: This calibration covers all the previous stages with upgraded engine internals, including forged engine components, cylinder head work, and camshaft upgrades. The full-frame turbo calibration requires a personalized approach that will involve live assistance and logging on the dyno. Customers must reach out to discuss their specific hardware configuration as it is crucial to validate the setup and ensure productive use of time.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I run 93 octane fuel on a 91 tune?
Yes, you can run higher octane fuel on a lower octane tune, as the base timing is calibrated for lower octane fuel.

Can I run 91 fuel on a 93 octane tune?
Yes, you can, but it is not recommended. The DME knock protection will engage to protect the engine, but if you have a high-mileage or fatigued motor, it may only save it a limited number of times. It is not a reliable solution unless you have no better fuel choice. If you are on a long trip with limited access to 93 octane fuel, it’s advisable to drive moderately and avoid heavy acceleration.

Can I run a hybrid turbo on a stock motor?
Yes, you can. Our tune is optimized to keep torque levels within the safe threshold for the stock engine. We can run the R300 or  R400TS on a stock motor without causing damage.

Can I use Powergate on all of my cars?
Yes, you can use Powergate on multiple vehicles, but it supports one VIN at a time. To transfer the device to another VIN, an erase credit will be required at a cost of $150.

How much power can I achieve from my setup?
The power you can achieve is dependent on your specific vehicle and setup. Please send us a message with details about your configuration, and we will provide a more efficient and accurate response.
