We are the the first Canadian dealer for Autotuner. While we have used various tools to tune these vehicles, when it came to the development of LCI models, Autotuner provided all the necessary solutions. As of today, you can take advantage of an affordable DME unlock solution.

If you're new to this, note that all BMW MG1 DMEs are locked after the 06/2020 firmware version. Without a DME unlock, tuning for your vehicle is not possible.

Unlocking Your DME and Getting Tuned:

We’ll break down the process to help you understand how to unlock your DME and achieve the best performance. Regardless of whether you're pursuing a Stage 1 upgrade or an F600 upgrade, LCI vehicles come with the best engine and turbocharger compared to pre-LCI models. With just a Stage 1 tune while retaining all emission systems, we successfully achieved 275 whp and 300 ft-lbs of torque on a JCW car—using only the stock intake, stock exhaust, and stock intercooler. It’s an amazing platform, so if you're still contemplating whether it's worth unlocking your DME, think no more!

Here’s the Unlock Process:

1. Shipping Your DME: Autotuner HQ is located in Belgium. You can pack the DME yourself, making sure to wrap it in bubble wrap with at least 2 inches of cushioning on each side, or you can order a shipping case from the Autotuner website.

   Please note that there is no benefit to shipping your DME to us, as we will still need to send it to Autotuner ourselves, which incurs additional logistic costs and customs clearance fees.

2. Ordering the DME Unlock: You can order the DME unlock from the Autotuner website. This allows you to schedule pickup with an Autotuner shipping label. Given that MG1 DMEs are quite expensive, Autotuner offers DME pickup via DHL Express insured. Depending on customs and the day of the week your order is placed, you can receive your DME back within 3 business days if there are no customs delays.

3. Flashing Your DME: Once your DME is unlocked, you can order the OBD2 One from us, and we can provide remote support for flashing your DME. The OBD2 One works through a phone app, and detailed instructions on how to get started will be included with your order.

Tuning File Package:  

We’ve tailored our approach for LCI cars to provide the most efficient and optimal solutions for enhancing performance without breaking the bank. Our full Tuning File Package is designed for 91, 93, and E30 fuels, supplying everything you need to operate your LCI model effectively. This package allows power levels to increase from 270 whp and 300 ft-lbs of torque to 330 whp and 350 ft-lbs—all without any hardware modifications, while maintaining full emissions compliance.

All maps are specifically tailored to deliver a refined driving experience and peak performance while staying within a safe threshold for stock engine stress. Additionally, this package optimizes for colder engine operating temperatures, extending the life of all plastic components in the cooling system as well as the oiling system.

We do not recommend upgrading to high-flow downpipes. However, if you live in a hot climate, an upgraded intercooler for Cooper S models is advisable. For JCW cars, while it's not mandatory, it can provide additional benefits.
