F600 Tuning Support for Mini Cooper Gen3 FWD 2014 - 2024 (B46, B46TU, B48)

(You can option the F600 Purchase with Tuning Support, but here you will find a more detailed information and options)

For DME Unlock, you can order it directly from AutoTuner Website, with scheduled pick up. We would advice you to order a shipping case, to assure your DME a smooth travel.

F56 Mini Coopers generally have more tuning support. However, if you are looking for a validated tuning solution, we have you covered. We have tailored the tune for this package to maximize stock engine performance while prioritizing reliability and drivability.

Dyno Graphs Attached

The dyno graphs attached are from a vehicle equipped with an automatic gearbox. We chose to use an automatic car for testing because it presents more challenges than a manual car. If a setup works well on an automatic vehicle, it will generally perform better and with less fuss on a manual transmission.

You may notice that the RPM range appears shorter than expected due to the automatic transmission upshifting prematurely during the dyno runs.

Peak torque exceeds 350 ft-lbs before reaching 4,000 RPM! We will share more graphs as we gather feedback from various types of vehicles.

Please note that the Auto TCU software is still under development. On the street, the rev limit has been extended to 7,000 RPM.

Don’t be fooled by peak numbers from applications; focus on the powerband, as it reflects how safe or aggressive the tune is for your stock motor. Tuning a forged engine allows for some errors during the process, but tuning a stock motor can lead to catastrophic damage if mistakes occur. Our tuning philosophy keeps stock engine internals where they belong, inside the engine.

Before offering the F600 package, we ran GP3 Turbochargers on Pre-LCI cars for over a year on several vehicles with stock engines, both Cooper S and JCW. We validated the torque thresholds to ensure safe operation for stock engines.

What We Offer: As default, all our tunes are adjusted for smooth torque delivery, with a torque cap to protect engine internals. The torque cap will vary between Pre-LCI and LCI vehicles. Pre-LCI vehicles require a more conservative approach, but good news: you can still enjoy 300-350 ft-lbs of torque with different fuel types. Our default tune also operates with colder engine temperatures and includes optimized timing and boost tables for specific fuel grades: 91, 93, E30, and E50. All the OEM safety logic  remain in place, including full OEM Knock control.

Please note that currently, Pre-LCI cars cannot operate on E50 with the stock fuel system alone; a port injection solution will be developed when there's enough market demand. For LCI vehicles, we have upgraded fuel injectors that allow the use of E50 blends (with a ±5% ethanol variation).

Logging and Safety: Our tuning support includes full access to our logging system. You will need an OBD2/Ethernet cable and a Windows laptop to operate the logging software. Logging is mandatory for applications like this to avoid surprises "My Car Feels Great" isn’t enough. We need to validate that we operate within safety margins for every application, start small before we go big.

Flashing Devices: For Pre-LCI vehicles, we can use BootMode, Powergate, and AT One Flasher. Note that some Pre-LCI DMEs may have OBD2 flashing locked, depending on the firmware. Regardless of your flashing device, a bench unlock for OBD2 will be required (not Femto or AutoTuner). The bench unlock can typically be done by tuning shops local to you, or you can ship your DME to us for this service.

For LCI cars, you must unlock your DME with AutoTuner. This step is mandatory, as all our development was completed with AutoTuner support and OBD2 One Flashing Device. This solution allows for fast map flashing from your mobile device, taking approximately 1 minute per map.

Tuning Options:

  • 91 Octane File: Good for 320-330 whp on Cooper S, and 340-350 whp on JCW.
  • 93 Octane File: Good for 330-340 whp on Cooper S, and 350-360 whp on JCW.
  • E30 Blend File: Offers 340-375 whp for Cooper S or JCW (fuel support is limited for LCI and Pre-LCI cars).
  • E30 and E50 Blend File with Upgraded Injectors: Achieves 370-450 whp for LCI vehicles only.

For Pre-LCI vehicles, we will be testing simpler direct injection (DI) system upgrades before moving to more complex port injection systems.

We aim to share insights about these cars operating at various power levels and what makes sense for daily driving. These cars feel great at 330-350 whp and 320-350 ft-lbs of torque. The weight distribution due to the engine and gearbox helps put the power down, even in lower gears.

Keep in mind that these cars are front-wheel drive, and an LSD is highly recommended if possible. An optimal tire size would be 225/40 R18 with a 300 tread wear rating, which works well in ambient temperatures of 20-25°C. To push these cars at 400 ft-lbs of torque, you'll need sticky tires, the electronics in these cars struggle if traction is lost. Even if DSC is turned off, the DME will cut throttle if traction is lost. On automatic vehicles, losing traction can cause the transmission to chase gears unnecessarily.

This is where tuning becomes challenging, and using OEM DME to control this package was essential. If you try to optimize torque figures right after an upshift while traction is not secure, tuning becomes complicated. We committed a lot of time to address these challenges and ensure a healthy driving experience.

While we did our homework to offer our best on tuning support, your driving style and how you use your car are ultimately up to you. The rules are simple: if you can afford to break it, treat it like a race car. If you can’t afford to break it, respect the advices provided above.

You are responsible for your choices and how you manage the power levels and driving experience of your vehicle. We aim to provide you with a well-tuned package that enhances your driving enjoyment while maintaining reliability.

Always be mindful of the limits of your stock engine and make informed modifications accordingly.

Thank you for this matter.
